why or why not?
Iris-Noire.org was registered during August 2009, and is proudly hosted by the lovely DreamHost, with all my other sites. This domain was a response my displeasure with my last domain (read the history below). It's also a way for me to start "fresh". I was not only tired of the other domain, but also from the messy number of subdomains for my current sites and my really, really outdated sites. I also lost plenty of hosts for a long, but never bothered to clean it up.Iris Noire (known as Black Ellis in Japan) originated from the character of Rune Factory: Frontier. Yes, I said no more domains based on characters, but this is an exception because they are also very much words that I found... pretty, I guess? Since I'm pretty much pissing my affiliates off with my recent moving, I think this domain should be the last move I make.
History
Reveria.silentcross.net - My site idea bloomed with the fanlisting collective on May 2006. Okay, that's a lie, I made websites before in free hosting areas, but since all of them sucked, I won't bring that up. Besides, I forgot all the names. Anyway, I was kindly hosted by the very sweet Haia since at the time, I was too poor to own a domain. In fact, this host was very reliable - she answered all my calls. Problem is, I hate having to depend on people, because I feel useless. So I then decided it was time to be more independent. Thus the parent nagging began.Rurushu.net - Starting April 2007, my nagging works. Using monthly paymounts, I bought both the domain and hosting via DreamHost. I thank all my friends, as well as my always supportive family, for their support on choosing a host, as well as encouraging me to make it this far. DreamHost was the only host at that time who allowed paymounts via money order, so it started shaking at first. Right now, there isn't much to talk about. Barely any real sites are opened, just my collective and two shrines (and one in the process of being complete).
It was a lot to offer, especially for my parents. In my circumstance, the idea was going to be rejected quickly. But my dear mother has kindly allowed to pay for the monthly fees. Everything has successfully moved (aside from some annoying errors I had to clear). I had a few problems at first getting used to it, but the team at DreamHost kindly replied within that day and gave me a free month to make up for the time lost. It took me several days to actually complete the site to be opened.
On April 2008, I bought a new domain Sol-Aria.org, which currently is being worked on as a personal site, as well as a host for some sites including Heaven's Not Enough.
RedAlice.org - This domain was registered on October 29 2008. The reason for the sudden change was due to the fact that I was tired of my Japanese-sounding domain. Although the majority of my interest do come for Japan, I am not that in love with the country like others are. Not to mention, the name was very awkward (rurushu) that even my mother made fun of it. Rurushu is the romanji form of Lelouch's name (from the series Code Geass). I didn't felt the need to own a domain based on a single character's name, so I bought another one, and let the old domain expire. However, the color on the title bothered me when it came to making layouts (having a blue layout with 'red'alice.org just seems out of place), and therefore, it also has expired.
